Cold Chisel

Entertainment Centre

18th December 2015

Cheers to Cold Chisel for a performance worthy of the penultimate concert at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. The complex as we know it is being demolished and a new entertainment quarter is scheduled for a 2017 opening.

It was fitting that the last Australian performance at this iconic venue was Cold Chisel as their “Last Stand” concert DVD was recorded at this venue almost 32 years ago to the day. Many of us cherish that DVD and the thought of seeing a resurrection of this event saw the SOLD OUT sign hang proudly outside the Sydney Entertainment Centre. Having sold out the Friday night show, further shows on the Thursday and Tuesday (sandwiched between the show for John Farnham on the Wednesday) were quickly added and these also sold out.

The 11,000 that did fill the venue were treated to a 2 hour plus rock show with all the crowd favourites plus new tracks off the Perfect Crime CD. The chemistry between Jimmy Barnes & Ian Moss was there for all to see with many warm embraces throughout the evening. 3 sold out shows at the Entertainment Centre reflects that the Australian public still has a love affair with Cold Chisel and that quality will always be supported irrespective of time.
